Hey everyone, I’m looking to hear some of your personal stories working with the iterative design process, or any artificial intelligence systems out there in the mechanical engineering field. I am currently a student, but I love coming to this sub to hear about the work environment and listen to advice people generally give others in the comment sections.
I just read “How to create a mind” by Ray Kurzweil and I find myself both excited and worried about the future. I’ve also been assigned multiple readings in intro to design that have a heavy emphasis on the iterative design process with artificially intelligent software. For example, airbus engineers used an auto desk software to come up with a new design for a plane partition/wall. It used bone structure to come up with over 60,000 different design variants. I thought that was so cool.
So with all that said, what have you worked on with artificial intelligence? How do I stay ahead of the game? What can I do to stay current in the field? I’m a Junior in mech E right now.
