Can someone help me understand matlab better?

I’m a senior trying to get ahead for college. I’m in an engineering clinic class at the community college before I go to university in the fall. I’ve used other programming languages, but matlab has so much extra notation and stuff that it’s difficult to remember. Is there any easy ways to remember it?
