Sorry if it sounds a bit newbie, but we are supposed to make a wind-driven boat project ( mianly using Magnus effect), more info Here.
Now I'm okay with buoyancy, floating and Magnus effect principles, but what I need help with is the designing of the boat itself as I have no experience in it whatsoever (tried searching online but didn't get much results).
So if anyone can help me with sources about boats and designing them, I would really appreciate it.
All wind driven mechanisms will be accepted, This includes:
o driving the ship by a propeller driven by a windmill,
o driving the ship by Magnus effect, etc.
How can I use the wind in other ways than Magnus effect ? what steps should I take in designing the boat ?
any tips would be appreciated, like if make the boat in general thinner it should be faster but with less stability ? what aspects affect the design of the front of the hull (bow?) ?
Thanks in advance.
