I am not sure if this is the right subreddit to post this to but I thought a subreddit dedicated to my study field might help.
I am a first year B.Eng MechEng student and I am struggling with Mechanical drawing. Our exams are based on hand drawn drawings. The exams are out of 70. We get negatively marked (you get marks for what is right and then they subtract marks from what is wrong, this does not imply you start with full marks). Each technical error will cost you 2 marks. My last semester test I got 15/70, but the one before, I got 77%. The tools we get are: A3 sheet of paper, a ruler, Mechanical pencil (0.5/0.7/0.9 mm), a eraser, a eraser shield and a question paper (no other tools like a set square).
I emailed lecturers but they told me I need to go see them on Monday but the exam is on Tuesday, this doesn't give me enough time to practice. I am busy making a list of "what to look out for" when I am done with my drawing (like a syllabus checklist). Can anyone please tell me what exactly counts as a "technical error" and any other techniques that could help? Youtube links are also very welcome.
