HVAC - Where to go for Standards and Design Information

Hi there,

I've recently started my first proper engineering job out of university, and I'm finding myself in a position where I need to know a lot more about HVAC related standards and design principals than I currently know of. Not in a consulting firm, I'm in a project engineering role supporting a manufacturing operation.

I want to know more about flow resistance, static pressure calculations, general design principals for flexible duct systems with multiple branches, and how to balance their flow-rates. The systems I'm looking at are for industrial local exhaust ventilation with almost entirely flexible ducting (Duct routing is constantly changing to supply local exhaust ventilation to workers in constantly changing locations).

Where do I go to find standards, and what books have the design information that I'm looking for? ASHRAE, NFPA, ANSI, ACCA, ADC Flexible Duct [...] Standards, Fluid Mechanics, etc.. there are so many out there.

Cheers!
