I am an undergrad that is in a design project for making a cage for a drone. The links of the cage are going to be slim bars. But we want to want the strongest cross section shape and maybe have a hollowed center or have grooves on the sides to cut material weight and cost.
In conclusion: anyone have tips on what cross section shape is the strongest and is making the diameter smaller, cutting grooves, or hollowing the center the best solution to reducing weight and using less material.
