Next month I’m taking an intensive intro AutoCAD class, my employer set it up as I need it for my mechanical design position. I’m nervous about the course. It’s 3 days in a row, 8 hours each day. I’m used to working with machinery typically duplicating rather than designing, I’ve never done any computer designing and I think it’s gonna be tough for me. I told my employer that I don’t know if I’m the best person for the job but they told me they think I will be good at it and explained what I would need it for exactly and it seems simple enough. I really hate going to big classes and feeling like the instructor is talking a different language meanwhile the rest of the class is getting it, Im nervous about that happening. I really like my job but I was a bad student and I’ve never had to mix the two so we’ll see how this goes. There is a final exam at the end and that makes me nervous. My employer is paying over $1k for me to take this and if I fail I’d feel so dumb. I definitely want to do it but maybe you can see how I’m hesitant. Has anybody taken AutoCAD as a complete beginner that can offer any advice? Thank you.
