Does this capillary phenomenon have any specific name? or applications?

My fluid mechanics professor once told us about this water droplet between two converging metal bars (or in a tiny nozzle). The droplet then goes upward because of difference in Laplace pressure of upper and lower water surfaces. I couldn't find any studies or applications of this capillary phenomenon through google search.
