Free alternative to KISSsoft, a gear simulation and design software/calculator, to rank different stock bevel gear pairs
Hi everyone. Does anyone have recommendations for a free software or gear calculator that I can use to rank different stock bevel gear pairs from manufacturers? I have seen the relevant section from Shigley’s mechanical engineering design book, but this seems to be for gear design rather than the methodology of comparing gear configurations, but due to time constraints, I don’t have much time to understand how the equations work in detail.
I have used KHK Gears force calculator, but it does not have options for Hostaform C, and Delrin gears, and it does not have the option to have two gears of different materials.
I just need to decide which of the different configurations can withstand the motor’s input torque, and weighs the least amount.
