Hi all. So I’m thinking of going for the ASME 2009 GD&T professional certification. I’m currently a masters student, but I used to work as an opto-mechanical engineer so I know how important GD&T is in that field. I’d like to go back into optics after graduation.
Does anyone have any advice on the GDTP cert? This would be something I did on my own time and most likely pay for out of pocket, so before I start this difficult endeavor I was hoping to pick some brains.
-Is getting the certification worth it? Obviously I’ll study the subject either way but I imagine having the cert would look good on a resume and maybe open some doors for me -What’s the best way to study? -How big of a difference is there between the technologist level and the senior level?
Thanks!
