TLDR: What topics in ME do you believe will help to improve/change the lives of people worldwide?
Hello everyone. Some background, I have my BS in ME but have been working far outside of the field and I'm going to go to grad school to get back into the field and start working as a mechanical engineer. In undergraduate I enjoyed dynamics and control systems the most, I even took graduate courses in the field.
Now that I'm going back to school I've been thinking of why I wanted to be an engineer in the first place. It was to solve problems, to help people, and to improve the lives of others worldwide.
I see renewable energy as the most direct route to helping others, but I know I'm most interested in controls/ dynamics/robotics. I'm interested if anyone has topics or areas of research (in any concentrations) that they know of that you believe will be able to help people significantly. I want to pick an emphasis that I am passionate about AND interested in. I'm sure there are tons and tons of topics that I'm just unfamiliar with that I'd like to learn more about.
