When I learned about beam theory and fluid mechanics (Bernoulli, Euler's equation, Stokes' equation...) and all the examples were about rectangular beams and towers and bridges. I'd like to know if you have some more exotic and exciting problems to share. Like, I don't know, a hammock? A space elevator? A water clock? Boiling water at room temperature using pressure?
What are the most original problems you've encountered?
