What does the job actually entail

I have a few questions

1) at my uni it’s is mandatory that I do a unit on all types of engineering. Currently im doing electrical, mechanics, calculus and programming. Programming is just time consuming, mechanics is only difficult due to Studying from home and electrical is a nightmare that im struggling with as thr guy running it is useless. How much am i going to need the electrical aspect?

2) what is a job as an engineering actually going to entail, as I thought i knew but the more I go through this course the less I know. How much of it is just running calculations over and over and over and how much is designing new interesting things.

3) wtf is the taylor series for
