Undergrad In ME Going Into Sales Engineering

I will be graduating with my Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering in about a year, and I just accepted an internship as a Sales Engineer for a small company, which will most likely offer me a full time job post graduation. I'm very excited about the technology that the company has patented and is manufacturing, and I have no problem with representing them as a sales expert. I was hoping to hear some experiences and maybe gain some advice from some ME majors that went into Sales at any point during their career. How did you like it? Are you happy with the pay?...etc. Of course my dream job would be a design team of some sort, but I've always had good work ethic as far as, if I'm getting paid fairly, then I will work hard and enjoy it no matter what it is. Any advice/stories/experiences would be appreciated!
