Create or Modify a Shortcut keys in AutoCAD

  1. In the Customize tab, click the plus sign () next to the keyboard shortcut node and expand it into the optimization lane.

2. Click the plus sign (+) next to the shortcut key node to expand.

Do one of the following:

To create a shortcut list, in the Command List pane, drag the shortcut key node into the <filename> pane in the optimization key.

  • To modify the shortcut key, select a shortcut key from the bottom of the shortcut key node.

On the Properties pane, click on the key (s) box, and then click the […] button to open the shortcut key dialog box.

In the shortcut key dialog box, hold down the modifier key Ctrl with the combination of Shift, Alt, or Shift and Alt with the desired letter, number, function or virtual key such as F1 or Insert.

Includes valid modifiers and major combinations

  • Function (FN) key with no modifier
  • Number pad (NUMPADn) key with no modifier
  • 1.Ctrl + letter, Ctrl + number, Ctrl + function, Ctrl + Virtual keys
  • 2.Ctrl + Alt + letter, Ctrl + Alt + number, Ctrl + Alt + function, Ctrl + Alt + virtual keys
  • 3.Ctrl + Shift + letter, Ctrl + Shift + number, Ctrl + Shift + function, Ctrl + Shift + Virtual key
  • 4.Ctrl + Shift + Alt + letter, Ctrl + Shift + Alt + number, Ctrl + Shift + Alt + function, Ctrl + Shift + Alt + key

Note: The virtual keys that are supported are Escape, Insert, Delete, Home, End, Page Up, Page Down, Left Arrow, Right Arrow, Up Arrow, and Down Arrow. The virtual key-out can only be used with self or modifier combination Ctrl + Shift + Alt.

Currently, the specified label key displays any current assignment for the combination. If you do not want to replace the current key assignment, use a different key combination.

Click OK to assign key combination and close the shortcut keys dialog box.

Then,Click on Apply.

Print the list of shortcut keys or temporary override keys

  1. In the Customize tab, select the keyboard shortcut node in the optimization <filename> pane.
