If this were a mechanical system, what could we say about it?

While this is not a mechanical system, it seems to behave like one. It looks like we could say that there is a fluid flow from right to left, and that this 'object' is being driven by it.

If we assume a 'fluid flow', we should be able to describe something like 'lift' and 'tension' along the curve based on its shape. These properties would have something to say about how the object evolves.

I realize the object is complex, but I don't need a comprehensive equation that fully describes the system. I only really care about the rightmost point of the object.
