Transfer into MECH E

Hello,

I am a freshman in college, currently in my 2nd semester, and I am very confused as to how I should go about transferring into MECH E to other universities and their programs because my school doesn't offer engineering.

Ive maintained a 3.8 GPA , currently taking CALC 1, did gem chem 1, taking gen chem 2, finished english req...

However, Im confused about:

1.) Transferring into engineering programs into other schools :

they require you to have completed calc1-2 and phys 1-2, so should I apply as undecided and work my way up to fill up the pre reqs then apply to school of eng?

2.) How hard is it to finish in 4-5 years as a transfer who isnt on the "normal" engineering course sched.?

3.) Should i finish the pre reqs in my school then apply for the SoE at other schools?

P.S Im looking at SBU mechE, please reccomend me some other schools around NYC/NY/(Maybe NJ) ish areas
