I have an idea to simulate the time it takes for our polymer to cure in a mold, but the convection coefficients are unknown because the shapes that the steam flows around aren't something you can find in a textbook. To find the convection coefficients for FEA, I have an idea to run experiments with thermocouples, and the only unknown will be the convection coefficient. So I will model that experiment in FEA, vary the coefficient until the simulation matches the thermocouple data, and test it on other items to see if it matches our established cure times.
Has anyone done something similar or have any thoughts?
