Hi guys, so I am graduating from ECU, NC, with a Mechanical Engineering degree in about a year, I was wondering what to expect after graduation. Specifically, how important is your GPA when you are looking for a job. Right now, I have a 2.5, and I'm gonna try to get it to a 3.0 before I finish, since I still have a good amount of courses left. I have heard many different things from different people. Some say that your GPA doesn't matter, and you should focus on the experience more, while others say that GPA is a huge part when considering employment.
I have tried getting work experience, and I have had 2 internships that is major related. I searched through some job offers on indeed, and I didn't see much of GPA requirements, just work experience. So I am not sure how hard it is going to be finding my first engineering job. Any stories that you guys can share will be extremely helpful.
