Is a Mechanical bachelor's enough

Hey, so I'm a mechanical engineering student and I'll be finishing end of next year. A few of my friends have decided to stay another year at uni and get a double degree in mech/mechatronics. I am tempted by the idea but uni has been a big slog for me and I don't really want to stay another year if the benefits aren't massive.

I am wondering, in today's electronic and automated world, is just a degree in mechanical engineering good enough for long term job security?

Thanks in advance.
