I am willing to apply for grad schools in USA and very confused about the area of research i will be working on . With my bachelors in mechanical engineering i cannot narrow myself to a certain topic . Is any research background needed to pursue an MS ? I have none. I have decent grades in my engineering around 80% .And have many other questions that have been haunting me . I will sound silly to ask you the questions but it will calm my mind for sure.I will be very much happy if some professor will help this confused soul some guidance in private(email). I read my engineering in India (although i am not from india)where professors are not open (my perception only) and have this habit of not being close -afraid (maybe) with professors. Thank you in advance. Really looking forward to build a sound student-Professor relationship to gain my confidence .
