Is a diploma worth it?

Hey everyone.

I have the opportunity to study for a diploma in Mechanical Engineering next year.

All expenses paid by my current employer. (No student loans yay).

The only problem I'm facing is that it's a diploma instead of a degree.

And I just don't know.

Is it worth it? How does it compare to a degree?

For reference in my country we rate qualifications with a scale from 1 to 10.

An Engineering diploma is level 6.

An Engineering degree is level 7.

They both take 4 years to achieve.

Edit: Note that I'll be studying for my diploma whilst working a full time job as a Diesel Mechanic Apprentice
