Hi all, i will try to explain this as best i can.
I have two magnesium alloy bars (Thickness: 4mm each) that i am trying to secure together (similar to sheet metal fastening) at the two ends. These two bars after being secured are going to go into a rolling mill, so I am looking for a way to fasten these two together temporarily since i will constantly be removing the fastening method, doing some analysis on my two bars, then use the same two bars again and fasten/roll again. Because I am rolling I would like a fastening mechanism that preferably doesn't overflow too badly on the top and bottom of the bars so it doesn't interfere with my rolling thickness reduction. For this reason I am not sure if a regular screw and nut will work because the nut will add considerable thickness overflow and i would like to keep my whole sample the same thickness. If anyone can suggest another method, and it would be preferable to have something simple that i can purchase from amazon, and a fast/easy way to do this.
Thank you very much.
