Evening, Reddit! I’m working at a mom-and-pop machine shop, and we had a servomotor break down in one of our CNC laser cutters today. This motor isn’t in production anymore, so a repair would cost us around a thousand dollars, and I thought I’d give fixing it myself a try (What could go wrong? It already doesn’t work!) I made good headway on disassembly but got stuck near the end, so I thought I’d try crowdsourcing some help. First off, how do I remove the rotor out without using any special tools or cutting any wires? Second, what are our likely culprits so we can avoid further damage? Thanks a lot for any help!
