I’m only 4 years or so into my career and trying to foresee some time where I can work for myself. For me at least, being self employed long term is a must.
ME work naturally requires a lot equipment and hardware for prototyping, testing, etc. While I love hands on work, this is a huge startup barrier to doing anything on my own.
What alternatives are there? I’m looking to do more analysis/simulation work as this seems to only require expertise and a good computer.
One day I can maybe afford the space and equipment necessary for full blown design services, but this simply isn’t a reality yet.
