[general] what makes a Senior project a Senior project?

Currently thinking of what I want to do for a Senior project and I don't quite fully understand what it takes for something to be a Senior project. I've talked to a couple engineers from the firm I interned and it varied. One designed a vacuum chamber to test small aerospace parts, another rebuilt a burned down physics lab, and another design a prosthetic limb. I'm a bit confused on what makes a project worthy of a senior project
