Hopefully this is allowed.
I’m planning on hanging a hammock in my apartment, but would like to have the option to easily move it out of the way.
The easiest solution I could come up with was to have a pulley system to raise it up to the ceiling, and a cleat on the wall to secure it.
I was thinking of using a double sheave pulley attached to the ceiling at the edge of the wall, and a single sheave pulley on the hammock, secured with a cam cleat midway down the wall.
I drew a (pretty poor) mock up for visual aid - https://imgur.com/a/Mo57BRB
The green being points that will hold weight (eye hook, pulleys, and cleat), blue is rope, and red is hammock. This hammock would need to hold a bit under 350lbs minimum (myself and my lady).
Im wondering is this type of setup could handle a load like that, or if anyone might have a simpler idea.
Apologies if this isn’t the sub for this type of question, but if so, I would love if anyone could point me in the right direction. Thanks!
