Hi All, Sorry if the formatting of this post is terrible, I’m writing it on my phone.
I’m currently completing an assignment on Pumps and Compressors and have a question which I’m unable to find a formula to calculate. The question is asking us to calculate the swept volume and volumetric efficiency for a reciprocating compressor which is compressing the gas from 1 bar - 6 bar. The parameters given are the FAD in dm3/sec, clearance ratio, and crankshaft rotational speed. Also given is the following statement which I’m finding hard to understand: ‘The expansion part of the cycle flows the law pV1.2 = C’. I’m presuming pV is pressure x Volume?
Thanks in advance for the help.
