A little about me. I graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering in December of 2016. A few months later I got a job 2 hours away from school/my hometown. I took it to get experience because I had very little. The job was more civil engineering related, so not quite what I was looking for, but it was still design/analysis. Fast forward to March of this year, and I a took a job just outside of my hometown. I was extremely home sick and knew this is where I wanted to be. It's with a fortune 500 company, great pay, great benefits. Everything is incredible.... except for the work itself. It is probably 80-90% administrative work, with MAYBE 5% being technical/analytical.
I started feeling this way in August (March/April was crazy busy so I just assisted people, then spent June traveling for training), I spent most of October in training, covering the technical side of what I do the admin work on, and enjoyed the training infinitely more than my general day to day work. Now that training is over, I despise coming in to work. I don't want to go to sleep at night because I don't want to come in, because I am bored and feel like I am just wasting away doing mindless tasks.
Is it too early to start looking for another job? 2 jobs in nearly 2.5 years might not look great, let alone only being at my current one for 8 months. I'm just not sure how much longer I can take it. If anyone has any advice or has been in this situation.. please help me.
