Im a final year mechanical engineering undergraduate. Having worked at a few different companies on internships I think a job working in increasing technical engineering knowledge is something Id like. Currently I'm therefore strongly considering a career path in composite materials research starting by doing a PhD in the field. Do any of you have similar r&d roles, do you think a phd is necessary to keep most doors open in r&d? Any other advice? Thanks!
