Tired of "Product Designer" job offers... Is it the end of Mechanical Design?

I am Mechanical Design Engineer for 4 years. In my homeland (North of Poland, near Baltic Sea) most common branch is IT (a lot of companies are hiring here - Nordea, Intel, Sii, etc.). In last months I decided to look for new job (my company is not focused on new solutions and automation in machine developing and I am not keen on that policy - I have no self development in that kind of repeatable designs). Since I've started to search offers I am tired of fact, that mostly every job offer, which contains of words 'Designer' 'Product Design' and etc. is referred to IT job and every 'Product' is web app, mobile app, etc... I have even started the additional studies this year (UX Design) to be in line with business requirements, yet I still cannot find new job (only in manufacturing segment) because I'm not IT-person and have no experience in this field.

I am curious about how yours path went in this segment - have any of you expanded your knowledge to electronics, IT, UX/UI and started job in completely new position or there is still work for mechanicals?
