Does anyone have any good documents on trailer design?

I'm doing my internship at the moment, and I'm working on some small trailers as a project. Two boat trailers and a small garden trailer.

I've a fair idea of the weight distribution requirements, but want to check back against something to make sure my design is good from the start, to avoid any reworks.

I'm in New Zealand, so my first stop will be looking up relevant ANZS design/roadworthiness standards if they exist, but figure these will be for safe, not necessarily 'best functional', design.
