What surface finish lay symbol to use on a conical face?

I have a sealing surface on a fitting that is cone shaped. I'm not sure how to specify the lay direction to be around the surface.

On a long cylinder I would point at long edge in the side view and use perpendicular lay to get rings around the diameter. If I wanted the flat ends to have circular lay pattern I would point at the short edge in the side view and use the 'C' circular lay symbol.

I can't find any drawing examples of a cone shape though. Any advice?
