I went to a vocational high school and used Autodesk Inventor starting in ninth grade. I just started using it again (grad student in mechanical engineering now, got bachelors in bioengineering so didn't utilize any modeling software during that time) and I am going against my labs/schools grain by using inventor. My school has Solidworks on all engineering computers and virtual computers but I decided to download a free student download of Autodesk inventor professional since I used it before. I will be fine using Autodesk for the remaining of my masters for what I need it to do. But should I just learn Solidworks too or will inventor be fine for future workforce experience?
