Measuring Bow in Sheet Metal

I’m trying to run an experiment to test the durability of a sheet metal part.

My predicament is that I don’t have a solid procedure for measuring the bow developed in the sheet metal under various loads .... up to 5000lbs of force.

One idea I have is to purchase or rig up a height gauge and keep it measuring at a fixed point. Don’t know how accurate I will get with something like this.

Anyone have any ideas ? Open to any suggestions no matter how complex, crazy, or simple they may be.
