[UK]] Getting into Mechanical work as a graduate who has struggled with mental illness

hi,

I studied Mechanical Engineering at Strathclyde University in Glasgow from 2010 to 2013. I did 2 Mechanical engineering internships during this time in Cheltenham and then in London. However at the end of the degree I went to do something completely different - teaching English abroad for a year or two. Which I did.

However due to mental illness I haven't worked or studied Mechanical engineering since then. I am looking to get back into a career of Mechanical engineering.

Do you think after almost a 7 year gap I should study again ? Or the fact I have a degree should be okay and I should just aim for work ? I should say I only have a non honours bachelor degree having left university at an unusual time.

I'm based in Inverness at the moment.
