Is there anything out there that says a propane tank with a ASME U-1 stamp is good enough to meet the CE requirements for pressure tanks (EC 97/23, 2014/68)?
Apologies for the left-field question, but maybe someone has fought this fight.
American equipment being used overseas in Europe ("live-fire" training devices for firefighters, with 400 gallon propane tanks). The propane tanks have U-1 stamps to show ASME conformity.
New training directive came out doubling our requirement for live-fire training evolutions. We have both American and local employees. The locals got unhappy about that, and after over a decade of routinely using this training device, they've now said they don't feel safe using it because it doesn't have a CE stamp on it. Would be real nice if we could show that the ASME U-1 standard meets or exceeds the CE standard.
