I've always wanted to take up mechanical engineering. I was obsessed with being an inventor when I was a kid, I had designs of products that now exist in the market. My mom made me take up liberal arts because "only boys take math and engineering, you won't make it".
After a degree in Psychology, I'm still lost. I know mechanical is what I'd take up if money weren't a problem but as you might have guessed I'm unemployed and I'm taking up another degree so that I can be employable.
She think IT is better than mechanical. It's not that I can't study IT, while working on projects on the side (mechanical/electrical). But the whole thing has stressed me out and I'm not sure which one to pick. This is a huge decision for me right now and I'm really worried I'll take up IT and regret my choice or take up mechanical and be unemployed again. She says mechanical engineers don't get jobs easily. I'd really appreciate any advice
