UK Engineer Moving to California

Hi all, I’m a British mech eng over here in the UK. I have a masters degree and a few years experience, mostly in the automotive industry.

At the end of this year I’ll be moving to California with my American wife. We’re already deep into the visa process, and I have no worries or questions on that front.

I’m a little concerned about whether I’ll be able to find work, given that I haven’t passed any of the accreditation exams that seem to be necessary to practice engineering in California.

Is there anyone that can shed some light on the topic? I don’t know anyone in the industry over there, and so any advice would be helpful. For reference, we’ll likely be moving to the Inland Empire region of SoCal, as that’s where her family lives.
