2021 JOB OUTLOOK AND FORECAST

Hey all you mechanical engineers out there. I hope everything is going good with you and your loved ones during these tough times. For those who are experiencing the growing pains of life, I pray and have faith that everything will get better.

I am currently a senior mechanical engineering student in Northern California. I wanted to create this post to get some feedback on various things.

INDUSTRY

  1. What industry will most mechanical engineers be employed in 2021? And why so?

  2. What industry will employ majority of the mechanical engineers in 5 years? Or even 10 years?

  3. What sub disciplines of mechanical engineers, are mostly employed now ?

Ex. Manufacturing , power plant, aerospace, product design, transportation, HVAC, etc

  1. Has COVID-19 effected your industry/job, if so how?
