I think I made a bad choice.

So I was offered the Engineering Manager position awhile ago, and boy howdy am I hating it. I became an engineer because I love math, I love problem solving, I love finding all of the puzzle pieces.

Well all of that is almost non-existent anymore. Minimal math, minimal engineering problem solving, MAXIMUM email sending, MAXIMUM schedule updating..

Sure the pay went up.. a little (~5%). To me, it wasn’t worth it. I love being an engineer, I hate being an engineering manager.

Anyone have similar feelings? Or maybe opposite feelings and I just have bad luck?
